Q&A with Vicki
Tell us about you…
I’m a longtime resident of the Kansas City area. When I’m not nerding out on insurance claims at IMA, I enjoy playing tennis, boating at Lake Jacomo during the summer and attending Chiefs and Mavericks games during the winter. In addition to volunteering for Alphapointe, I also am a reading mentor for students in KC’s urban core through a program called Lead to Read.
Why do you Volunteer at Alphapointe?
Being a business partner of Alphapointe, I was treated to a tour of the operations the first time I came to Alphapointe’s office. It had quite the impact. It did not feel like this was just a group of people doing their jobs, but that there was a true sense of caring and community within the organization. When I realized all that Alphapointe does outside of just providing employment, I was hooked!
What does Volunteering at Alphapointe do for you?
It allows me to be grateful that I’m able to do a small part.
What do you want to share with others about Alphapointe?
I love that Alphapointe doesn’t just provide the necessities when it comes to their outreach, they also provide an avenue for recreation, arts and connections for children all the way to senior adults.
Why should others get engaged with Alphapointe?
Why shouldn’t they? It is a great opportunity to get involved in fun events that support Alphapointe’s ability to continue providing important life services and fun.
What is something you think everyone should know about Alphapointe?
Besides producing some of the highest quality goods, Alphapointe has some straight up singing talent!
What’s the most important thing Alphapointe does from your perspective?
Providing opportunities to help individuals live more independent lives.
