Large contract with Express Scripts Keeps Alphapointe Growing
Kansas City-based Alphapointe signed a seven-year deal to produce prescription bottles for Express Scripts Holding Co. (Nasdaq: ESRX), adding to its ongoing growth.
Nonprofit Alphapointe is the nation’s third-largest employer of blind and visually impaired people, in addition to providing many vision-related and rehabilitation services. It’s had a contract to produce prescription bottles for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for more than 20 years. Now it’s adding a private-sector contract with St. Louis-based Express Scripts, a leading pharmacy benefit management service provider that posted $2.48 billion in 2015 earnings. The contract adds more stability and jobs to Alphapointe.
