Opening Doors: Helping You Find Meaningful Work
Alphapointe’s job placement services are dedicated to helping individuals who are blind or visually impaired find meaningful employment. Through personalized career counseling, skill development, and partnerships with various industries, Alphapointe connects clients with inclusive job opportunities that align with their abilities and goals. The organization strives to empower individuals by providing the resources and support needed to succeed in the workforce, fostering both independence and career growth.
How We Help
Vocational Inventory
We use the World of Work Inventory (WOWI), a career assessment designed for screen readers. WOWI offers career matches and insights into candidates’ learning styles and task preferences, guiding them toward fulfilling careers. Candidates receive a work inventory report and support from Alphapointe staff to interpret and apply their results.
Resume Assistance
We employ current best practices to aid candidates in crafting or updating their resumes for immediate impact. Job seekers are supported with design, formatting, accomplishment statements, applicant tracking system optimization, and other services, to ensure their resumes stand out.
Interview Support
93% of job seekers are anxious about interviews. We’ll help ease that worry with one-on-one prep, mock interviews and feedback, transportation assistance, employer communication for accessibility issues, and clothing assistance.
Job Coaching
Job coaches offer onsite and offsite support, assisting workers with disabilities to gain independence in their new roles. They help overcome barriers, including support for those struggling with company training modules. Providing a job coach for workers with disabilities is considered a reasonable accommodation under the ADA.
