Alphapointe Secures Agreements to Manufacture Attire for Military Personnel
Alphapointe secured agreements to manufacture thousands of physical fitness pants for the U.S. Navy and dress uniform skirts to be worn by members of the U.S. Army.
Both apparel items will be manufactured at Alphapointe’s facility in Richmond Hill, which features a workforce largely comprised of people who are blind.
“We are thrilled to announce these agreements and continue Alphapointe’s 100+ year history of manufacturing items for the U.S. government, including our brave soldiers in our military,” said Alphapointe President and CEO Reinhard Mabry. “These agreements underscore the level of sophistication and ability our team members possess and will help us combat the unfortunate reality that the unemployment rate for people who are blind is above 70 percent.”
Alphapointe will manufacture approximately 60,000 pairs of physical fitness pants for the Navy under terms of the agreement. The pants are primarily used by Navy personnel during periods of physical training.
The additional agreement is with Marlow White Uniforms, a dress uniform company based in Leavenworth, Kan., that has been in existence since 1879. Alphapointe will manufacture high-end skirts for the U.S. Army’s dress uniform that will be retailed by Marlow White. The agreement is the second between Alphapointe and Marlow White following a venture started in 2021 to produce high-end long and short-sleeve men’s shirts via Alphapointe’s Kansas City-based subsidiary, Rightfully Sewn.
Through the two agreements, more than 25 Alphapointe team members will participate in the projects.
