Whether you are seeking employment as someone with a visual impairment, needing rehabilitation services or desiring the ability to move about the activities and passions that make up your daily life, Alphapointe can meet you wherever you are on your journey of vision loss.

Our Low Vision Clinic is staffed with highly trained and passionate doctors, OTs (Occupational Therapists) and COTAs (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants), who all possess the tools, skills and passion to help someone who is struggling with vision loss get back to living a rich fulfilling life.

Dr. Cal Wiese offers full comprehensive exams, (including testing out magnifiers and other visual aids) in order to see what could be beneficial for each individual patient. The low vision clinic also offers home visits from our OTs and COTAs, so that they can assist in the set up and training in the use of our home aids, allowing our patients to resume daily activities such as cooking, managing medication, and even continuing a hobby or passion like playing cards and knitting.

“We get patients who walk into our clinic, and they are really struggling with their vision loss,” says Brittney Bryant, Alphapointes optometric technician. “I have had so many patients feel like there is no hope, and once they leave here some of them will break down and cry they feel so relieved.”

Brittney herself goes out of her way to speak with other visually impaired or blind clients and staff at Alphapointe, so that she can learn ways to better relate to what her patients are going through.

If someone with vision loss feels that their world is going dark, and they are losing part of themselves, Alphapointe’s low vision clinic can provide them with the knowledge and the skills to continue to live the life they want with confidence and independence.
